Phone numbers at the National Institute for Health and Welfare changed on 9 May 2012

10 May 2012

Phone numbers at the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) beginning with 020 will be replaced with phone numbers beginning with 0295 524 on Wednesday 9 May 2012.

This will bring the THL into the new 0295 phone number series of the central government administration. The last four numbers of each extension will remain the same.

The phone number reform concerns not only the National Institute for Health and Welfare itself but also institutions it supervises, state mental hospitals and reform schools, although each of these will be introducing the phone number reform at their own pace. Each unit will announce the changeover on its own website.

Following the phone number reform, the entire central government administration will have phone numbers that begin with 0294 or 0295.
One of the outcomes of the reform is that phone calls within central government will be free of charge. Outside calls will, however, continue to be charged according to the current tariff of each customer’s phone subscription.

As of 9 May, the number for the switchboard of the National Institute for Health and Welfare will be +358 29 524 6000. The Department of Communications at the National Institute for Health and Welfare will continue to be available to the media between 09.00 and 16.00 at +358 29 524 6161.
